Artistic Director – Liv Satchell
Liv Satchell is a theatre-maker, writer, and dramaturg trained at the VCA (Directing) and the University of Sydney. Her practice focuses on community development for emerging artists, new writing development, and producing original work through her company the voice in my hands (VIMH). Her plays include I sat and waited but you were gone too long and my sister feather (La Mama Courthouse 2018). I sat and waited but you were gone too long was showcased at Playwriting Australia’s National Play Festival in 2016 and was shortlisted for the Philip Parsons Fellowship for Emerging Playwrights. my sister feather was shortlisted for the Rodney Seaborn Playwrights Award and the Max Afford Playwrights Award. She is the co-founder of Melbourne monthly performance program Small and Loud, which is in residency at The Channel, Arts Centre Melbourne.
Associate Artist – Julian Dibley-Hall
Julian is an actor, theatre-maker, dramaturg and producer trained at the VCA (Theatre Practice) and ATYP. He has a strong passion for developing and performing new writing for theatre and is a co-creator of VIMH’s development programs dinner and a show and arvo tea and a show. He is also a co-founder of new Melbourne theatre company Bad Ducks Co.
His theatre performance credits include Lifetime Guarantee (dir. John Sheedy, Theatre Works), Bucks (or A Bag of D*cks) (Adelaide Fringe Festival 2017, Bad Ducks Co.), Florida (dir. Zachary Dunbar, La Mama), Much Ado About Nothing (dir. Alister Smith/Tony Smith, VCA) which toured to the Folkwang International Shakespeare Festival in Essen, No End of Blame (dir. Bridget Balodis, VCA), The Cherry Orchard (dir. Melanie Beddie, VCA), Side: Effect (dir. Tobias Manderson-Gavin, MKA), The Pillowman (dir. Luke Rogers, New Theatre), and Human Resources (dir. Kate Gaul, Siren Theatre Co.).
His screen credits include ‘All Saints’, ‘Search for Treasure Island’ and the short film ‘Lure’. He was the 2016 recipient of the VCA Cassidy Bequest Scholarship for Theatre. Julian has been a proud member of Equity since 1999.
