In 2013 I cofounded Somersault Theatre Company with playwright Alison Rooke.
As a new work development company we had a two-year residence at Griffin Theatre with our primary playwriting program From Scratch. This program was modelled off the roundtable readings pioneered by the Lark Play Development Centre in New York. Over the course of this residency we worked with 16 writers including Victoria Haralabidou, Lachlan Philpott, Katie Pollock, and John Fraser.
In 2014 we were awarded a JUMP Mentorship grant by the Australia Council for the Arts. We spent the year working alongside our mentor Tim Roseman, Artistic Director of Playwriting Australia, to explore the importance of creative risk in the playwriting process.
We also received support from the SBW Foundation Playwriting Support Fund to offer extended development to two of our From Scratch playwrights.
